The Truth About Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel

by Alia Jae

This is a great product by Dermadoctor and right now through Amazon they have a special promotion going that you can save $5.00 when you spend $50.00 or more on any thing in the Dermadoctor line. Also, there is another special offer going you can get free domestic expedited shipping on Dermadocotr of orders over $49.

Peter Thomas Roth anti-aging Cleansing Gel is an anti-aging cleansing gel. This cleaning gel is so refreshing and invigorating that works to resurface the skin. This product works deep into your pores to relax fine lines and wrinkles. What is so nice about this product is not just that it relaxes fine line in wrinkles, but is also works to purge the skin from impurities.

Our skin becomes so infected on a daily basis by all the smog and other elements in the environment that only make our poor skin conditions more apparent. This is gentle enough to use on a daily basis, but strong enough to purge impurities and wipe away dead skin cells. The two agents that work to resurface the skin in this product is Glycolic and Salicylic acid, these two ingredients are the ones responsible for purging and exfoliating the skin.

I would not recommend this product if you have sensitive skin. All the ingredients in this product are not natural, so you might get a little skin irritation from this product, especially if you use it on a daily basis. Also, if you have rosacea, eczema, seborrhea or use Retin-A this product is not a good choice for you. I would look into an organic product line that has no ingredients that will cause you to break out or make your condition worse.

Some of the other ingredients are Water, White Oak Bark Extract, Lime Extract, Linden Flower Extract Grapefruit Extract, Peach Extract Sodium, Arginine and more. As you can see there are a lot of extract in this product and that is why it can cause some irritation to those of you who have sensitive skin. This is a stand alone product; it does not come in a set. The cost of this product for and 8 oz. bottle is $35.00. Dermadoctor is known for its great products so I don’t think you will be disappointed by this anti-aging gel. Just be careful if you have sensitive skin is my only warning about this product.

Facial Skin Care 101 - Learn About the Different Types, Problems and Solutions

by Paula Paulson

Every individual needs to understand the basic concepts of facial skin care to know which methods and products best suit their skin type and condition. Quickly relying on a commercial product without knowing the effects of certain substances can prove to be detrimental to the body as a whole. Learn how to help your skin function fully by searching only for natural approaches and materials for a radiant face.

Different Skin Types, Problems and Solutions

Every individual has a skin type or a combination of skin types such as oily, dry, sensitive or partially oily and dry at the same time. Oily parts of the face usually involve the T-zone, forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Dry areas usually involve the cheeks, temples and under the eyes.

Too much oil or moisture can lead to pimples, blackheads and whiteheads while very dry skin can have rashes, increased sensitivity, scales and redness. There are different natural approaches that focus on each skin type. The goal is to achieve balance by correcting the large differences in order to alleviate and reduce symptoms.

Identifying Facial Skin Care Products

It is important to have a natural and holistic treatment regimen to maintain the natural ecology of your skin. Cleansers are great products the enliven complexion, remove oil, makeup and dirt and clean pores without drying the skin or removing the acid mantle. It is recommended that you massage gently as you cleanse for at least 30 seconds. This will enhance circulation, skin function and tone. Facial skin care focuses on helping facial muscles relax through soothing touch and techniques.

Enzyme mask is an organic facial skin care product that effectively and safely exfoliates skin. The product is AHA-free and provides deep-cleansing action for all types of skin. This is ideal for individuals who have trouble with other commercial masks because of their sensitive skin.

Be gentle when applying the mask and avoid extreme exfoliation which can damage skin pores and dry out skin quickly. The top layers of the skin should remain intact to protect vulnerable cells from UV or ultraviolet damage.

Toners help maintain the right pH of complexion as well as draw moisturizers into the skin tissues and cells effectively. You reduce the risk of having large skin pores that predispose you to pimples, blackheads and infection. Choose fully organic botanical toners that vitalize skin and prevent dryness. Take three deep breaths and relax before and after applying the toner.

Stay away from products containing synthetic perfumes and dyes. Always pick natural products that are aligned with the normal natural processes and functions of the skin. Aloe Vera is effective for those with sensitive skin. When choosing cleansers, aim for soap-free ones. Check that salicylic acid is minimal in anti-acne cleansers. When trying out a product for the first time, test the product first by putting a small patch on a particular area of the face or skin then look out for reactions within the next 2 to 3 hours.

More Natural Facial Treatments

A healthy whole plant can have up to several hundreds of substances that are all bioidentical to the substances that naturally exist in your body. Cosmeceutical and other synthetic products cannot provide the same effect. Moisturizers help feed your skin and improve skin hydration and circulation. Highly concentrated formulas only need to be applied in small amounts.

Dark circles under the eyes are another problem that facial skin care emphasizes on fixing. The eye area is the most recessed part of the face thereby having a natural shadow. If eye puffiness is also present due to factors like stress, substance intake and poor diet, dark circles can become very obvious and last for several weeks. Under eye creams and gels are available which help reduce puffiness and get rid of free radicals that cause swelling. Try facial skin care products that contain natural ingredients like cucumber and vitamin E.

Wrinkles are another problem most individuals have to deal with. Aim for natural anti-wrinkle creams that include vitamin C and E. These will help your skin produce more elastin and collagen to improve elasticity and reduce deep wrinkles. On the average, effects are noticeable within 60 to 90 days. Wrinkles are a normal part of the aging process so be patient and rejuvenate your skin gradually.

GiGi Hair-Removal Cream for Bikini and Legs

by Alia Jae

If you are trying to avoid spending a lot of money on products that remove hair from your bikini line and legs, I have the perfect recommendation for you.

Hair removal kits can end up being so expensive that I just end up shaving! However, here is something that should work nicely for you. GiGi Hair Removal is only $5.95.

It will remove hair from your legs and bikini line very quickly and gently. What is helpful about this product is that it comes with a Calming Balm that you can apply as soon as you are done waxing.

Your hair can be eliminated in 5-8 minutes of using this product. The cooling agents in this product are cucumber and Aloe Vera.

Don’t just believe what I have to say read a testimony by Katie Lowe, “I hated the painful bikini shaving process and would always end up with itchy ingrown hairs for days. So I decided to try depilatory’s…everything I used was painful and burned until I found this product.

The results only last as long as shaving but the process is easy and painless. I think it is meant to be used on the bikini line because there doesn’t seem to be enough in the 2 oz package for leg use. Make sure when you use this that you use the calming balm…it makes all the difference.

I recommended this too all of my friends and now they all love it too.” http://www.squidoo.com/beautytipsgalore

Another thing that I really like about this product is the directions that come with it! I like that that product instructions are not too long and boring and confusing. They really get straight to the point.

This is how you are supposed to use this product. First, you need to dampen your skin. With your clean finger tips apply the hair removal cream thickly without rubbing it in. After about five minutes you will want to check a small area to see if the hair is ready to be removed.

If the hair does not easily come off then you will want to keep it on for another two minutes. Make sure that you don’t exceed using this product for more than eight minutes.

Now take a soft and damp clothe and wipe off. Then rinse away with warm water and pat dry. If you find that your hair has not been completely eliminated then wait another 48 hours to reapply the cream and do the process again. Lastly apply the cooling balm over the entire area, but don’t wipe it off.

Review of Bion Lady Shaver and Cosmetic Groomer Kit

by Alia Jae

The Bion Lady shaver and Cosmetic Groomer is a tool that every woman needs to have! One of the main reasons we all need to have it is because if you buy it from floica.com you can get it for a low $12.49! This awesome tool used to retail for $49.95 so you might want to snag yours ASAP.

This is a two in one rechargeable shaver that will work gently to remove all unwanted hair. I like this tool because it is won’t be harsh on your skin or cause you to get rashes. It will leave your skin silky and very soft. The kit also comes with a rechargeable cosmetics groomer.

One of things that I really like about going on folica.com, is that many times they will tell you how to use their products so you can know upfront if you really want to buy the product or not.

So, here is how to use the Bion Lady Shaver and Cosmetic Groomer Kit, of course you have to switch it on and then place the trimmer and shaver foil on the skin. Make sure that when you put the shaver on your skin that you do it in a gentle manner. Then move over the skin with very light pressure. This tool works so well that there is no need to put a lot of pressure on it. To get the best results you want to make sure that you shave in the opposite direction of the hair growth.

This tool is great because it can fit anywhere. You can take it when you travel around. You are able to use it on sensitive spots like your chin, upper lips and cheeks. Another thing that I really like about this shaver is that you can use it if you just want to do touch ups. You can do touch ups on you underarms or on your bikini line. The body of this tool is very elegant and it operates with AAA batteries so it is really convenient to take with you anywhere.

With summertime around the corner this is a great tool to have with you. I love that it takes care of the big jobs, but at the same time you get to use it for little touch up areas. This shaver was made to be used on sensitive spot like your upper lip! Sounds like everything you need in a shaver.

Review of DermAware Barrier Gel-Anti-Aging

by Alia Jae

DermAware has found a new way to slow down the signs of aging. You really don’t hear too much about anti-aging products main ingredient being Vitamin E. Vitamin E in this formula is said to help renew, restore and rejuvenate skin.

Well, the bummer about DermAware is that Vitamin E seems to be the only ingredient they mention. I really don’t know what their other ingredients are. There is now way that their product only consists of Vitamin E.

DermAware is very proud of the fact that they use the mighty antioxidant Vitamin E as their main ingredient. However, many tests have been done on Vitamin E and it is just not powerful enough to use topically. All antioxidants perform the best when they are ingested. The list price of DermAware Barrier is a little high in my opinion. This product costs around $54.00. That is a little expensive if all I can verify about is that it has Vitamin E that will have very little effect on my skin.

If this product is truly an anti aging product then it should have Matrixyl 3000, this ingredient is advanced and helps to promote collagen re-growth. If products really want to be successful at reducing wrinkles then they really should always have this ingredient as one of their main ingredients.

This product does not move me or excite me in any way at all. I think that it is just an average product, maybe even lower than average. If Vitamin E is truly the main “active” ingredient, this is probably a very ineffective product. DermAware lacks some of the properties that make a product worth it!

The positives are that you can shop online and have this product delivered right to your door. DermaAware does contain Vitamin E which is good for moisturizing skin.

The negatives are that the product does not seem to be very effective, especially since I cannot verify what the other ingredients are. The price is unfairly too high. I don’t know why they think it is justifiable to charge so much when the product is seriously lacking! As of now there is no refund policy and no clear way to get a hold of customer service!

I would say this product is a no no. Don’t pay $54.00 for some cream unless you know it has superior ingredients. You also want to buy from a company you know you can get a hold and talk to if you have any questions or concerns.

Review of Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice After-Shave Balm

by Alia Jae

Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice After-Shave Balm runs from about $18.99-$22.00; and if you purchase this product form Amazon.com you can save $10.00 if you spend $100 or more on their other product offerings, of course there are restrictions that apply, so before you get down and start buying up just anything find out which products qualify.

Men love this product because it helps to calm sensitive skin. Sometimes we only think that women are the only ones who have problems with sensitive skin, but men do to. This product also works to heal razor burns. The ingredients in Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice After-Shave Balm helps your face to feel cool and it does a great job of moisturizing irritated skin.

This product does have some accolades! This has been nominated for FHM Grooming Award as the best After Shave Balm. Also, it has been awarded by Men’s Health in 2006 for having the best After Shave Balm. So, with accolades like this we know that this product really is worth investing in.

Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice After-Shave Balm also works great with Billy Jealousy Hydroplane Shave Cream. If you buy them together on Amazon.com you will only pay $45.00.

This formula has over 20 different ingredients and what I like about the process of creating this product is they have tested the chemical reactions of each ingredient. Since this product has been designed for men with sensitive they wanted to be sure that this would not cause any reactions on this product touches the skin. The chemical reactions of this product have proved to be superior and not harmful.

Here are some directions on how to use Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice After-Shave Balm. After you have finished shaving your handsome face then apply liberally to your skin. Pay extra attention to the areas of your face that seem to cause you the most irritation. The manufacturer recommends that you also invest in the Hot Towel pre Shave Treatment and Hydroplane Shave Cream. This is a three step process that you will want to follow every time you are going to shave.

So, for you men out there who suffer from sensitive skin this is a product that was designed just for you. This will make your shaving experience so much easier and you will get to medicate those areas on your face that cause you irritation. Yes, this does cost more than what you can buy of the shelf, but this product was designed to treat and heal sensitive skin. So, with that said give it a try!

How to Get Rid of Scars Naturally

by Alia Jae

Having scars re such a bummer because it is so hard to get them to go away! I have seen some scars go away overtime, but yet I still have scar that I have had since I was ten years old. Well, I have been doing some research and have found some help in getting rid of scars.

My first “recommendation” is one that most people are familiar with and that is the use of Vitamin E. Now I am about to bash on Vitamin E just so that you will stop depending on it. The thing about Vitamin E(according to About.com) is that it has never been tested to prove that is can help scars. It has been tested to relieve inflammation after surgery or after getting some kind of wound. However, in the studies done there have been no results that Vitamin E gets those scars to go away! According to a study that About.com has researched a set of doctors did a test on people who had just had surgery. They wanted the patients to use Vitamin E everyday for 12 weeks to see if it would help to reduce their scars. Well, 12 weeks later and 90% of the patience saw no difference. Also, the same test revealed that using Vitamin E on a fresh wound might make things worse!

Ok so now let me move on to two remedies that you can actually try yourself. The first one is Onion Extract. Onion Extract is found in many scar treatment creams that can be bought in many drugstores. However if you’re looking for something a little more potent and powerful then you want to consider talking to your doctor about getting your hands on some pure Onion Extract or a cream that has a more potent effect. Onion Extract is known to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. These properties help to control the formation of collagen. Now the thing about this extract is that you may not see a difference in the size of your scar, but you will get to see it lighten up a lot. With about two months of using Onion Extract you should notice that the scar is a lot more soft and faded.

My last recommendation is Topical Honey. Now this remedy has been used for centuries to help dress wounds and burns. In 2006 a study conducted by University of Waikato in New Zeland on 2,000 that had some kind of wound. They found that honey as a great anti bacterial and anti-inflammatory. However, doctors did not see as great of results in curing scars as they had hoped. However, if you use honey with other scar beating agents like aloe Vera, gotu kola, vitamin C and zinc you should have great results in just a few months.

Review of SK-II Skin Care

by Alia Jae

This skin care product is growing in popularity more and more. SK-II is currently being endorsed by Kate Blanchette and that is why this company has been getting lot of attention from consumers and from the media. You can find this product in the most expensive high end department stores and like so many other products on the market this is an anti aging cream. Before we all get too excited about this product and all the fanfare it is getting lets take a deeper look into to it to see if we can actually benefit from it.

The product in focus is the SK-II Whiting Source Skin Brightener. This product was created to help diminish age spots and other skin discoloration issues. The thing that kind of bothers me though is that they never disclose what ingredients they use to help brighten up age spots and other problems. In the skin care market I know for this one ingredient called Hydroquinone that helps to lighten skin up, but it has also been proven to cause cancer as well. The manufacturer does allude to the fact that they might be using Vitamin C and E in the formula, but really they are just very vague. Maybe because they are so big and popular now they don’t think it is necessary to disclose such important information. I don’t care that a celebrity is endorsing the product, if I am the one that is going to be buying the product then I need to know what is in it!

Here is a product that is worth spending money on is Joey New York Complexion Color Modifier. What I like about this product is that it works so well and a lot less expensive than the product listed above. This Complexion Color Modifier will only cost you $18.00 if you get it from folica.com.

There are five formulas that make this product so great. The first one is Porcelain. This formula helps to whiten and brighten your skin in those areas that are dull and discolored. The porcelain formula also will fill in your pores and keep them from irritants that cause skin discoloration.

Anti-Yellow is awesome because it works to get rid of the yellow tone that some fair skin people have. Anti-Red is another formula that works to fill in pores and helps take away redness and refresh skin. The last two formulas are Tan Enhanced and Bronze. Tan is cool if you have a nice tan that you would like to see enhanced. The Bronze formula evens out dark skin and fills in the pores to keep the skin tone even.

Review of Dermesse Vitamin C Serum

by Alia Jae

Here is another anti-aging serum people! I am just amazed at how many there are on the market and how many claims we must read through and examine to get to the truth before we waste our money again!

So what is the deal with this Dermesse Vitamin C Serum? Well as you already noticed this formula is based on Vitamin C. Their claim is that Vitamin C will reduce wrinkles, promote moisture retention and improve your skins elasticity.

This product is recommended for daily use, so I guess it’s a product that is not powerful enough to irritate your skin if you use it on a daily basis. Vitamin C is an antioxidant. All antioxidants perform best if you take it as a pill or a juice of some sort. However, when you use an antioxidant on your skin it just does not have that same effect topically. It seems to just loose its fervency if used outside the body. Since Vitamin C can be kind of acidic it might be an irritant to some people.

Well, that is really all I know about the ingredients present in this product. The company did not do a good job of listing what their other ingredients are. I mean we all know that there is no way the product can just contain only Vitamin C.

The positives of this product are that it is competitively priced; it’s not priced at some ridiculous price. We know that it contains Vitamin C and is easy to order online. I also think there are some other antioxidants present, but I don’t really have enough information on that to really go much deeper in to that.

The negatives are that there is no refund policy! I love it when companies have money back guarantees; it shows that they are confident in their product. If a company does not have some kind of return policy or money back guaranteed it makes me think they are not confident in their product and that they are just trying to make a buck! The last two negatives are that they don’t contain Matrixyl 3000 or Argireline which promotes collagen production.

New Treatments for Eczema

by Alia Jae

There are so many treatments on the market for Eczema, but there are not too many of them that are natural. Sometimes natural ingredients really can make a difference in our ailments. One thing that I would like to recommend to you is trying organic Coconut Oil to help your Eczema problem.

The reason that coconut oil works so well is that it has a compound call MCFA. What MFCA does is prevent the fungal and bacterial fungus from growing on the skin and eating on your sebum. The MCFA also works to fight against liver spots and they destroy free radical damage.

Coconut Oil also brings down that inflammation that is always accompanied by Eczema. Coconut oil is really soothing and it helps to repair and heal tissues that have been harmed by eczema. Also, Eczema becomes worse when our immune system is not as strong as it should. When you start taking Coconut oil it will help to boost your immune system incredibly! This is will help the Eczema to be relieved because your system can better ward it off.

The other two things that Coconut Oil does are to help our skin have more chemical balance. When the chemical balance is normal in our bodies Eczema has to take a hike. Also, the components in Coconut oil are rich in moisturizing nutrients that relieves the skin from being dry and flaky!

Here is another product that will benefit anyone that will give it a try! ECDermaid Capsule is an herbal treatment that was developed for kids and adults. It was developed to deal with moderate to severe eczema. There a total of 16 natural ingredients that will help to rid your body of eczema.

The product claims to detoxify your body in order to relieve the body of inflammation of the skin while working deeply to treat the root problem that is causing the eczema. There will be a great reduction in itching, swelling redness of skin and cracks that form because of the eczema. Blood circulation will increase allowing your overly dry skin to become more nourished and healthy.

Dr. Li is the practitioner behind this product and she has been using this formula with her patient for over 15 years now. Dr. Li is great at tracking the results of her patients and is very into how the formula affects each patient of hers. Through the years her product has helped 90% of her patients become free form eczema.

Dr. Li believes to really experience healing from eczema people need too be cleansed on the inside and have the root issue stabilized. Then once that is happen the outside issues will respond much quicker to treatments. There is also a diet and stress reduction plan that must be followed to insure optimal results! There is also a life time management plan that insures the patients permanent healing as long as they stay within the programs guidelines.
